State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations as Rhode Islands are officially known, is located in the New England region of the United States of America. The education system of Rhode Island is managed and controlled by Rhode Island Department of Education. The department of education is divided into two boards - Board of Regents for Elementary and Secondary Education, and the Board of Governors for Higher Education. The initiative was taken up by the government to integrate policymaking and planning into the elementary, secondary and higher education of the state.

Rhode Island is known to provide post-secondary education to around 84,000 students each year. It is also known to have a very high rate of graduates every year. About 18,000 students at the degree levels graduate from the colleges in Rhode Island every year.
