About the Scholarship

ABA Diversity Scholarship is recognized and is sponsored by the American Bus Association. The foundation is a nonprofit organization that was established in the year 1926 that is committed to guiding their students' academics and financially by providing them scholarships, research, and continuing education for the motorcoach and tour industry.

The Diversity Scholarship focuses on broadening the number of traditionally underrepresented groups in the management and operation ranks of the transportation, travel, and tourism industry.


Application Procedure

  • Candidates are required to submit an essay of 500-words discussing the role they hope to play in advancing the future of the transportation, motorcoach, travel, and tourism/hospitality industry.

  • Students must demonstrate their need for financial assistance, academic achievement, character, leadership, and commitment to advancing the transportation, travel, and tourism industry.

  • The understudies applying for this award must present a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application form that determines the financial position of a student's family to pay for the education.


Award Amount

  • This scholarship award amounts to $5000 annually and is non-renewable.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship is limited to 2 candidates based on the students meeting their requirements and applications received for the current academic year.


Deadline Information

The application deadline has not yet been finalized and students are advised to keep track of the official website for any change in deadline information. In case if any application sent post deadline will be disqualified.


Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must have completed at least the first year in an accredited university or college.

  • A student must be enrolled for a course of study with major in transportation, travel and tourism industry.

  • The applicant must submit an essay of 500 words stating their future plans in advancing the transportation, motorcoach, travel, and tourism/hospitality industry.
