About the Scholarship
Akash Kuruvilla Memorial Scholarship is recognized and is sponsored by the Akash Kuruvilla Memorial Scholarship Fund. The foundation was established in the year 2007 in honor of Akash Jacob Kuruvilla and to continue his legacy.
The scholarship is for those who demonstrate great academic performance, community involvement, and commitment to education. This fund can be utilized by a student to pay for their education expenses.
What is the scholarship application procedure?
Students are required to submit a typewritten essay of 750-words describing "What does the phrase The American Dream mean to you and how do you embody the American Dream?"
Candidates must provide a personal statement describing their academic background.
Two letters of recommendation must be submitted. One from academically well know person and one from a friend not related to the candidate.
An official copy of academic transcript, previous years' W2, IRS Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ is to be submitted.
The candidates are instructed to submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to determine their family's financial position to pay for education.
Scholarship Award Amount
This scholarship award amounts to $1000 annually which is non-renewable.
The total number of awards offered through this scholarship is limited to 3 candidates each year depending on the availability of funds and applications received.
The applications are to be sent to the concerned department no later than June 28.
Students are advised to keep track of the official website for any change in deadline as any application sent post deadline will be rejected.
Must be accepted to or enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program in the U.S.
A candidate must be a legally recognized citizen of the United States or an eligible non-US citizen.
