About the Scholarship
American Legion Department Headquarters - Alabama is providing The American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship Program for Alabama residents. Where it is a need-based scholarship which assists students financially for their education purpose. The applicants who are children of U.S. military members who died while on active duty on or after 1st September 2011 are eligible to apply for this scholarship or children of post-9/11 veterans having been assigned a combined disability rating of 50 percent or greater by the Department of Veterans.
How to Apply for Scholarship?
In order to qualify for this scholarship application, an applicant must answer 3 questions which will be found on their official website.
If an applicant answers YES to all the 3 questions, he/she will be qualified to fill an online application.
What is the Total Amount Awarded?
The scholarship provides $20,000 annually to U.G or postgraduate colleges. And the award is non-renewable.
The scholarship application deadline is April 15, 2019. The applicants must apply for this scholarship before the mentioned deadline.
A student must have a 3.0-grade point average and a completed application on file with the American Legion Auxiliary.
A Student must be an undergraduate student.
A student must attend a university or a four-year college.
The recipient should have at least a 3.5 GPA
- A Student must be in or a veteran of any U.S. Armed Service.
A student must be at least 17 years old but not be older than 25 years old
A student should be a resident of the U.S and study full time.
The scholarship is restricted to residents of Alabama.
