About the Scholarship
This Barbara Shey Memorial Nursing Scholarship is given by the organization Arizona Community Foundation. This scholarship is started in honour of Barbara Shey of Mobridge, South Dakota who was a nurse in the profession. So this scholarship is also for those students who are high school senior or want to be a nurse in the Arizona region.
How to apply for the Scholarship?
Candidates who are applying for this scholarship can find the application form online on the Arizona Community Foundation website and have to register with the foundation.
The applicant must have to register for the Barbara community foundation.
The candidates have to submit their high school academic scorecard.
The candidates have to submit their FAFSA certificate.
The candidates have to submit their ACT/SAT scorecard.
The candidates have to submit two recommendation letters, one from his/her guidance counsellor and one from a high school academic teacher, attesting to his/her academic strengths and determination to succeed at the university.
He/she has to submit an essay on personal detail in 500 to 700 words.
Award Amount for the Scholarship:
The award amount for this Barbara Shey Memorial Nursing Scholarship is $2,000 per year.
This scholarship is non-renewable but the candidate who applied in the previous year can also apply for the future year.
The number of scholarship given in a year is one.
Deadline for the Scholarship:
The deadline for the scholarship is the 15th of March.
An applicant must be a proper and legal United States citizen.
A student must be graduating senior at Kofa or Cibola High School.
The student to be eligible must hold at least 2.5-grade point average out of 4 for the scholarship.
A recipient must have a plan to attend Arizona Western College or NAU Yuma.
