About the Scholarship

This scholarship is available for Texas high school seniors and undergraduate students who are economically disadvantaged and are majoring in civil engineering or a department-approved operational business major. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 (2.5 if currently in college) or higher, or an SAT score of 900 or higher or an ACT score of 21 or higher if applying as a high school senior. Eligibility Criteria

This award is for U.S. students. Must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen. Must be a full-time student (12 or more hours per semester). Must be a resident of Texas. Must have an overall unweighted high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (current college students must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher) OR have an SAT score of 900 or higher OR have an ACT score of 21 or higher. Must attend or plan to attend a four-year Texas public college or university. Must be a high school senior or a current undergraduate student. Must declare an intent to seek a baccalaureate degree in civil engineering or a department-approved operational business discipline. Please note: Dual majors are not eligible. Must be considered economically disadvantaged based on federal poverty guidelines (see the Texas Department of Transportation website for details).
