About the Scholarship

Pride Foundation sponsors Daniella Altfield-Moreno Scholarship since 1993 for the essential financial resources and community support to inspirational LGBTQ+ and allied student leaders across the Northwest.

The fund is available to students in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.

The foundation recognizes the tremendous financial need of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students, as well as straight ally students in the region, and began its scholarship program to help them economically to pay for their education.


What is the application procedure?

  • All applications must be submitted online by filling the form that can be found online with all the necessary details.542

  • In addition to that, you are required to give contact information for two references who are familiar with her capabilities and potential for success in her education and community involvement.

  • You must give an answer to six essay questions on the topics of education goals, career goals, activities, giving back, challenges, and a quote that must be limited to 3,000 to 5,000 characters.

  • A student who is currently studying or plans to study visual arts, design, or music should submit two samples of his/her work.

  • You must send your music in MP3 or MP4 formats, and videos must be MOV or AVI files. The file size must be no more than 300 MB.

  • Students who are selected for an interview will be asked to bring a portfolio and a transcript.


Award Amount and Deadline:

The scholarship award amounts to $4160 awarded to all eligible applicants per academic year. The number of awards offered varies annually. 

The deadline date for this scholarship is 10th January 2020. Please make sure that your scholarship application and the above-mentioned documents must be submitted no later than the given last date.


Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must be a high school senior or undergraduate at the time of application.

  • A recipient must be a resident of one of the following states: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana or Alaska.

  • A student must be involved in athletics.

  • Also he/she must be of Latin heritage.

  • A candidate must be under the age of 25.

  • A student must identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or as a straight ally dedicated to LGBT causes.
