About the Scholarship

The David J. Clarke Memorial Scholarship is awarded by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to a full-time undergraduate student in the area of journalism, multimedia broadcast or production-related major at an accredited college or university the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The award is given to the student who has demonstrated good academic performance and must be involved in co-curricular television activities. And a student who shows interest to engage in television as a career, and who has high integrity and personal character will receive this opportunity. Financial need is also considered to obtain this scholarship.


How to Apply for Scholarship?

  • A student must complete the online grant application in order to apply for this scholarship.

  • A student should write a personal statement.

  • An applicant must submit two examples of creative work he/she has done.

  • A student must provide a copy of ACT/SAT grade cards to demonstrate academic scores.

  • In addition to that, an applicant must submit proof of a letter from a college professor.


Award Amount and Deadline:

The foundation is awarding $3000 to one student annually. Awards are non-renewable.

All applicants need to submit the scholarship required documents before April 30, 2019.


Eligibility Criteria

  • A student should have academic excellence.

  • A student should be involved in co-curricular television activities.

  • An applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student, with journalism, multimedia broadcast or production-related major at an accredited college or university in the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.  

  • student should possess a desire to engage in television as a career and who has high integrity and personal character.
