About the Scholarship

Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship is approved and is sponsored by the Gen and Kelly Tanabe Foundation. The scholarship is named after the award-winning authors of eleven books on admission and scholarships.

The main objective is to provide the required financial assistance to all students and make their education affordable. This is a merit-based scholarship that means no need for financial assistance is considered. The winner of the award will be selected based on their academic performance.

This scholarship is for understudies to have full control over their applications and are not given a favorable position or burden based on financial related or scholastic conditions.


What is the application procedure?

  • A candidate must first log in to their account with their unique username and password and fill in the online application form that can be found on the official website.
  • Students are required to submit an essay of 250 words or less describing the topic on an application form or on the topic of their choice.

  • The candidates are also advised to provide their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to determine his/her financial position to pay for the education.

  • Candidates must submit a personal statement while applying for this scholarship.


Scholarship Award Amount

  • This scholarship award amounts to $1000 annually which is non-renewable.

  • The total number of awards offered through this scholarship is limited to one candidate each year based on the students meeting their requirements.


Deadline information 

The applications are to be presented to the concerned department on or before the end date of December 31, 2020.

Candidates are informed to keep track of the deadlines and send their documents before the deadline to avoid their application getting rejected.


Eligibility Criteria

  • To be eligible for the scholarship, a candidate must be a legal resident of the United States.

  • An applicant must be in their 9th - 12th grades in high school or be enrolled in any recognized college or university for their UG or graduate program.
