About the Scholarship
The Higher Education Legislative Plan for Needy Students (HELP) is provided by the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid to the students who are in a great economical burden for their academic study in the state of Mississippi. The award is given to the applicants who meet the eligibility criteria as stated by the financial aid of Mississippi. The Scholarship program can cover the tuition fees of all four-year academic study of a student.
How to Apply for Scholarship?
An applicant must complete the FAFSA application form to demonstrate the financial need in the view of pursuing academic study.
In addition to that, an applicant must complete the online application to apply for this aid.
A new applicant must submit two forms of residency documents such as FAFSA and Mississippi driver’s license.
If an applicant does not have above mentioned preferred residency documents, he/she can submit documents of Homestead Exemption, Voter Registration, Vehicle Registration.
In order to receive this fund, an applicant must submit a recommendation letter from a counselor that he/she has completed the HELP curriculum.
Award Amount and Deadline:
The organization is awarding $5535 to the qualified applicants who apply first to this scholarship award. Awards are given on the first come first served base. And the amount is renewable up to four years of academic study.
All the specified documents to apply for scholarship should be submitted before April 30.
The applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student.
The applicant must first receive HELP as a freshman or sophomore.
A student should have a minimum of 2.5 GPA, minimum composite ACT score of 20, and completion of specific high school core curriculum required.
