About the Scholarship

This award is for students who are residents of Illinois and plan to attend a postsecondary institution in Illinois. The student must be the child or spouse of an Illinois police, fire, or correctional officer who was killed or at least 90 percent permanently disabled in the line of duty. Eligibility Criteria

This award is for U.S. students. Must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen. Must attend an approved postsecondary institution in Illinois. Must be the child or spouse of a police, fire, or correctional officer who was killed or at least 90 percent permanently disabled in the line of duty. The police or fire officer must have been an employee (or volunteer) of an Illinois police or fire department. The correctional officer must have been employed in a security position by the Illinois Department of Corrections. Must be a high school senior or older.
