About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation. The John Crane Scholarship is awarded yearly for the Burkburnett area high school students who show academic accomplishments and have a financial need. The applicants for the grant must be current high school seniors in Burkburnett, Texas and have a minimum GPA of 3. The applicants must plan to major in any field of study at the Midwestern State University. Consideration will be given to candidates who are associated with the First Christian Church of Burkburnett.


How to apply for the scholarship?

  • Interested applicants can visit the official scholarship online page to fill in their details and apply for the scholarship.

  • Upon completion of the application form, applicants will be notified to which individual scholarships that a student is eligible for, and also about the additional requirements needed for applying.

  • As the application page isn't fully compatible with Internet Explorer, applicants are advised to use other web browsers.


Scholarship Award Amount

  • The award amounts and renewability vary depending upon each candidate's financial need.

  • One or more scholarships are provided every academic year.


Deadline Information

All the necessary documents must be submitted to the concerned department no later than March 1 to be one among the eligible candidates. An applicant can contact the financial assistance department anytime to get the guidance if a student is finding trouble in applying.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a high school senior planning to attend Midwestern State University.

  • To be eligible to avail the scholarship benefits, an applicant must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or above. 

  • Candidates must reside in and attend school in Burkburnett, Texas.
