About the Scholarship
The John J. Killian Scholarship Award is given to a full-time student who has enrolled as an accounting major in their junior year at an independent Kansas college or university.
The Scholarship qualified nominees must demonstrate academic success in accounting studies. Additional importance is placed upon the nominee’s grades in English as well as courses in business and economics. In addition to that, an applicant must possess strong leadership quality, good community involvement, and willing to comply with standards of professional responsibility and overall moral character. There is no need to demonstrate financial need in order to achieve this award.
How to apply for this scholarship?
The scholarship applications are available on the Educational Foundation of the Kansas Society of CPAs (KSCPA) website, all applicants must complete this form on/before the given submission date.
An applicant must attach the copies of official transcripts indicating the college/institution he/she has attended.
In addition to that, an applicant must provide a resume and three letters of recommendation from their college professor.
Award Amount and Deadline:
The KSCPA is funding $2500 to one applicant annually and is non-renewable.
The deadline for this scholarship is fixed on 8th February 2019. The applicants are required to submit all scholarship related documents and transcripts before the mentioned date.
The scholarship is for college juniors in Kansas who are majoring in accounting.
Applicants must be attending an independent Kansas college or university and demonstrate academic success in their accounting curriculum.
Additional emphasis is placed on the nominee’s grades in English and rhetoric subjects, as well as courses in business and economics.
Applicants must be nominated by an appropriate faculty or staff member.
