About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by the Greater Worcester Community Foundation, a tax-exempt, public charity dedicated to improving the quality of life in Greater Worcester County. They enable individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to create permanent charitable funds that help their community. The funds are easy to set up and provide tax benefits. The grant is awarded yearly to local area women who are planning to major in engineering. The selections will be made based on factors including academic performances, recommendation letters, and financial need. 


How to apply for the scholarship?

  • The applications should complete the application which can be found on the Greater Worcester Community Foundation website.

  • Along with the application, the applicant should also submit academic transcripts and a recommendation letter from a teacher, employer, or any other adult community leader who is familiar with the applicant.

  • The application and other supporting documents must be submitted before the deadline date.


How much the scholarship award amounts to?

  • The award amounts to $1,000 yearly and is non-renewable.

  • One scholarship will be provided per year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a high school senior.

  • Must be female.

  • Must be planning to major in engineering.

  • Must reside in Worcester County, MA.
