About the Scholarship
Lighthouse Guild Scholarship
Lighthouse Guild Scholarship was established in December 2013, this scholarship mainly formed when Jewish guild healthcare and Lighthouse International combined, and it becomes a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization. Lighthouse Guild Scholarship was established by the Winifred and Edith Holt, they both are sisters and they found this scholarship and become a pioneer in this field. A year later it's officially recognized as The New York Association for the Blind Inc. and then they state providing counseling.
The Lighthouse forges an alliance with the Ophthalmology Foundation, which starts directing first-of-its-kind blindness research for the association. Every year, the Lighthouse Guild grant program enables extraordinary and meriting legally blind high to class Students from the country attend college with a scholarship. Scholarships are provided based on strong academic accomplishments and merit and provide additional financial support to help students make a successful education from high school to a college or university of their choice. There are also providing additional scholarship to one student who currently attending graduate school.
Application requirement -
Students need to give proof of legal blindness
Two letters should at least to academic skills-write.
Two personal statements of 500 words
The applicant must be a high school senior at the time of application.
The applicant must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
The applicant must be legally blind.
