About the Scholarship

Lilly Endowment, Inc.: Woksape Oyate: "Wisdom of the People" Keepers of the Next Generation Award is managed by the American Indian College Fund. This organization was found in 1989. The foundation provides scholarships and improves in programming Native American students to achieve their higher education dreams. Lilly Endowment, Inc is an Indianapolis-based private philanthropic foundation created in 1937 by three members of the Lilly family:  J.K. Lilly-Sr. and sons J.K. Jr. and Eli.


What are the basic requirements needed to apply for this scholarship?

  • A FAFSA application must be completed by the students to receive this scholarship fund.

  • A proof of Tribal affiliation or descendency by submitting your parent’s or grandparent’s proof of tribal enrollment along with your birth certificates that prove descendancy.

  • An official transcript must be submitted by the students along with the 'Financial Needs Analysis' form.

  • This scholarship provides $8000 annually which is non-renewable.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship varies depending on the availability of funds and students meeting their eligibility.

 

Deadline information

The applications are to be submitted by the end of May 31, 2020. Students are informed to submit their application and other related forms before the due date to meet eligibility. Applications and other informations are available on the American Indian College Fund (AICF) website
