Eligibility criteria to get Engineering Scholarships

  • GPA considers being the most important aspect of a student’s application. As the universities in the USA have a minimum requirement of 3 out of 4 GPA. However, if you want to enter the best universities, your GPA should be at least 3.5.

  • TOEFL is another important score if you wish to pursue Engineering or want to avail of an engineering scholarship in the US. The requirement score for the topmost universities in the US is above 100, whereas the requirement for other universities ranges between 80 to 100.

  • You need to aim for a 320+ score in GRE for availing engineering scholarship in your particular course in the US. However, you need a 330+ GRE score to get admission and avail scholarship in the top universities.

  • In your Statement of Purpose (SOP), you must highlight a few points such as what piqued your interest in the subject, your love for research work, the reason why you applied in that university, your future goals, etc.

  • Take your Letter of Recommendations (LOR) from your teachers or employer who knows you and would highlight all the positive features in you. Whatsoever your professors and employers have to say about you hold significant importance to universities.

  • Internships and projects add to your profile. Thus, you can try doing internships in the field you want to pursue your engineering degree in.

When to Apply for Engineering Scholarships?

As a student of engineering, you can apply for scholarships as early as possible. There are some scholarship deadlines that are considered as early as a year before you start college. You don’t need to wait until you’ve made your final decision about your school to apply.
