About the Scholarship

SWE has established MASWE (Mens Auxiliary of the Society of Women Engineers) Scholarship to support women pursuing ABET-accredited bachelor or graduate student programs in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science in the United States. A student must have a greater economical need in order to achieve a high academic education.

How to Apply for Scholarship?

  • All applicants must complete scholarship applications online at the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) website.

  • In order to apply for this award, a financial need is required to assist the students. Hence an applicant must demonstrate their economical burden towards academic education.

  • A student must provide current official transcripts from all schools he/she has attended, and a letter of acceptance to an ABET-accredited college or university and a resume.

  • Additionally, a student should give two letters of recommendation where one letter must be from a teacher or college professor in a STEM field who is familiar with the student's work. The other letter must be from a person who has known the student for two or more years and who is not a relative or member of the student's family.

Award Amount and Deadline:

The Organization funds $1600 to four eligible applicants annually. And the award is non-renewable.

The Scholarship deadline is on 15th February 2020. Hence all applicants must fill and submit the online application and official transcripts no later than the deadline date.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be a female student.

  • A recipient should be a college junior, senior or sophomore student.

  • The award is applicable to both international and U.S. students.

  • Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

  • Must major in any engineering field.
