About the Scholarship

This scholarship is given by the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation to the children and in certain situations, grandchildren of Marines who are active duty, retired or deceased. This is a need-based scholarship that are attending college or career training. Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation (MCSF) has the mission to honor Marines by educating their children.

 


How to Apply

The application is available online on the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation (MSCF) website under the 'apply' tab. The student have to create an account to access the application form. Apart from the complete application, the student has to submit the following documents:

  • his/her grandparent's certificate of service from the Marine Corps

  • official and unofficial transcripts from all schools attended

  • A copy of his/her income tax return

  • A copy of his/her SAR (Student Aid Report) for the year for which he/she is applying. The SAR is generated by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

All application materials, including the online application form, must be submitted online by the deadline date.

 


Scholarship Amount

The eligible applicant will receive an amount of $10,000 per annually and is non-renewable.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate award.

  • Must be the grandchild of one of the following:

    •  

      A U.S. Marine who served with the 4th Marine Division during World War II and is/was a member of their association;
    • A U.S. Marine who served with the 6th Marine Division during World War II and is/was a member of their association; or
    • A U.S. Marine who served in the 531 Gray Ghost Squadron and is/was a member of their association.
  • Must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

  • Must have a grandparent who served in the Marines.

  • Must have a household income of $98,000 or less. If the student's sibling(s) is(are) applying for this scholarship also, the income limit is raised $10,000 for each sibling. Students with special circumstances may apply to show unmet financial need.
