About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the Funeral Service Foundation, an organization that supports service in building meaningful relationships with the families and the communities it serves. The impact of their work is that the public now recognizes and engages a funeral service professional's expertise. This scholarship was created to honor those who have blazed a trail in the profession.
How to apply for the scholarship?
The applicant should complete the application which can be found on the Funeral Service Foundation site.
Along with the application, the applicant should submit an original essay of 500-1000 words explaining why he/she chose to enter the funeral service profession, and a copy of his/her acceptance letter to an American Board of Funeral Service Education- approved school.
Each scholarship has a unique essay topic, so if the applicant wants to apply for more than one FSF scholarship, he/she must submit a separate application and essay.
How much the scholarship award amounts to?
The award amounts to $1,000 per year and is non-renewable
Up to 4 awards are offered every year.
The deadline date is set for March 30
Applicants must be enrolled full- or part-time in an American Board of Funeral Service Education accredited program.
The applicant's selection is based on the overall strength of the application.
