About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the Michigan Higher Education Assistance. The program is available to undergraduates pursuing their first degrees and is based on financial need and merit, at an approved Michigan postsecondary institution. Students attending Baker College or Davenport University should contact the college financial aid office to see if they are eligible and at what amount.
How to apply for the scholarship?
The program is available to undergraduates who demonstrate both financial need and merit with a qualifying ACT/SAT score.
The applicant should submit a filled FAFSA application form to determine his/her family position and tuition-paying capability
The FAFSA form must be filed before the MCS application deadline. A student can make use of the award amount to pay for their tuition and fees.
A student must submit all their official transcripts and other examination records to prove their academic excellence.
Scholarship Amount and Deadline
The scholarship award amounts up to $1,000 per academic year. The total number of awards provided depends on the total number of applications received and a student's performance.
All the applications and official documents must be submitted to the institution no later than March 1 to be eligible for the scholarship.
Applicants must provide their Social Security number to MI Student Aid by their senior year in high school.
The applicant must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or approved refugee.
An application must be a Michigan resident since July 1 of the previous calendar year. If a dependent student, a parent must also be a Michigan resident since July 1 of the previous calendar year.
A student should maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 out of 4 to be eligible for the renewal of the scholarship.
