About the Scholarship

Minnesota Child Care Grant is authorized by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education. The establishment furnishes understudies with financial aid projects and information to assist them with accessing post-secondary training. 

The Child Care Grant program financial assistance to understudies who have kids 12 and under, are not accepting help under the Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP).

  • The candidates are educated to present their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to get this honor.

  • This scholarship provides $5200 which is non-renewable.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship varies each year depending on the availability of funds and students meeting their requirements.

The application deadline has not yet been finalized. Understudies are informed to present their grant application, and other requirements are to be submitted prior. Applications and other data are accessible online on the Minnesota Office of Higher Education website.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a resident of Minnesota.

  • The applicant must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.

  • The applicant must be enrolled at a Minnesota postsecondary institution that is eligible to participate in the Postsecondary Child Care Grant program. 

  • The applicant must be enrolled at least half-time, taking at least six credits per quarter, semester, or the equivalent.

  • The applicant must have a child 12 years of age or younger, or 14 years of age or younger with a disability, needing child care service on a regular basis.

  • The applicant must not have completed four years of postsecondary education. Students who have withdrawn for active military service after Dec. 31, 2002, are given an extra term of eligibility.
