About the Scholarship
The Monica Abbott Scholarship was started by Abbott in the year January 2003. North Salinas High alum who has visited rockstar status in the softball world. The Scholarship is running successfully in its first year by helping the female student-athletes financially. The scholarship selects two female athletic students from four public high schools in the Monetary Country. The scholarship is helping the students financially to overcome their financial burden in education. The award amount is helpful for the students to complete their tuition charges and other college expenses.
How to Apply for Scholarship?
A student must fill the FAFSA application form in order to demonstrate their financial need for education.
In order to FAFSA form, an applicant must write an essay describing why they should be chosen for this scholarship?, The written essay is used to nominate the students for a scholarship award.
The four public high schools need to send student nominated list to the Community Foundation for Monetary Country selection committee, the committee which then selects students for the scholarship.
What is the Total Amount Awarded?
The Monica Abbott Scholarship awards $1000 to two female student-athletes for their tuition costs and other college expenses. The amount is non-renewable.
The student must submit the scholarship application before March 15.
An applicant must be a female athlete to avail this scholarship.
- The applicant should be a graduating senior.
A student should have a plan of attending a college in the fall.
Applicants who demonstrate consistent work ethics in athletics, academics and extracurricular activities are considered.
