About the Scholarship

The organization offering this scholarship is NASA College Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is for those students who were pursuing their undergraduate studies in the field of science or engineering from an accredited university or college in the United States. The number of awards offered annually is 5.

How to apply?

  • Students can find the application form on the NASAPeople Office of Human Capital Management website.

  • Along with the application, students are required to submit all high school and college transcripts and 3 letters of recommendation either from academic instructors or any knowledgable individuals who were not related to the applicant, the limit is 3. 

  • Applicants are required to furnish either SAT or ACT test scores on their transcripts, in case if that's not possible then the applicants are duly required to submit those scores before the deadline.

  • All the completed application forms, scores, transcripts, recommendation letters, and materials must be received by the end of the deadline date.

Amount of Award:

$2,000 annually, renewable for a maximum of $8,000 over six calendar years.

Deadline :

 Students are supposed to submit all the required documents along with the application form by Tuesday, April 30, 2019 

Additional information: After meeting all the minimum requirements, the applicants will be ranked on the basis of the following objective standards:

  • Community and society related activities

  • Academic excellence, all the scores achieved and nature of the courses

  • Performance on ability and aptitude tests like SAT or ACT.

  • Referral letters

  • Statement of purpose, normally 1 page.




Eligibility Criteria

  • Students graduating from high school or current undergraduate students.

  • Candidate should be a US citizen or a permanent resident.

  • Average GPA is 3.0 or higher

  • Candidates must be the dependent of either current/retired NASA employees or with those NASA employees who were with Nasa for at least 2 years as of January being the current year.

  • There is no minimum period of employment which is a requirement for the eligible dependents of either former NASA employees or former reimbursable detailees who died while employed by NASA.

  • This award is only for the citizens of US
