About the Scholarship

NC Jagannathan Scholarship was started by industrialist N.S. Jagannathan in the year 1996-97 academic year. The Jagannathan Scholarship program is handled by the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority. The awards are based on financial need. A student with greater financial need will get the award.  In addition to that, an applicant must demonstrate good academic ACT/SAT scores. The financial aid will nominate the students based on the student's financial position.


How to apply for this Scholarship?

  • An applicant must fill and submit a FAFSA application form that is used to determine the needs and financial position of a student and his/her family. In addition to this, a student must also fill in the CSS Profile form.

  • A student must demonstrate their academic excellence by submitting ACT/SAT official transcripts.

  • Additionally, if an applicant has participated in any extracurricular activities or has leadership skills, he/she must prove excellence in the same.


Award Amount and Deadline

The Organization is funding $3300 to any number of students and it is non-renewable.

Applicants must fill and submit all the above-mentioned documents on or before 1st February 2020 to be eligible for the scholarship.


Eligibility Criteria

  • A student should be a legal citizen of the United States and a resident of North Carolina.

  • A student should be enrolled or enrolling in an undergraduate degree program at Appalachian State University which is one of the constituent institutions of The University of North Carolina

  • A student should have an SAT score of 1100 or above.

  • A student should have a grade point average of 3.5 or above.
