About the Scholarship

This scholarship is available for children and spouses of individuals who were New Jersey residents on Sept. 11, 2001 and: were killed in the terrorist attacks against the United States on Sept. 11, 2001; died as a result of injuries received in the attack; died as a result of illness caused by exposure to the attack sites; or are missing and officially presumed dead as a result of the attack. Eligibility is continued for eight years from the date of the child's high school graduation or eight years from the date of death for the spouse. Eligibility Criteria

This award is for U.S. students. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen. Must be enrolled or plan to enroll as a full-time student. Must be enrolled or plan to enroll in an undergraduate course of study. Must be the spouse or child of an individual who: was killed in the terrorist attacks against the United States on Sept. 11, 2001; died as a result of injuries received in the attack; died as a result of illness caused by exposure to the attack sites; or is missing and officially presumed dead as a result of the attack. The individual under whom eligibility is established for this scholarship must have been a New Jersey resident.
