About the Scholarship
New Mexico Scholars Scholarship encourages NM high school individuals to enroll in college for a full-time UG program at a public or private non-profit post-secondary education in New Mexico.
The scholarship award amount received can be utilized to cover the applicant's tuition, books, and college fees. New Mexico Scholars Program is a need-based award, hence all recipients must demonstrate their financial status towards the scholarship program.
How to apply for this scholarship?
All applicants must complete the scholarship application form first in order to receive this fund.
The scholarship is need-based, so, all applicants must fill and submit the FAFSA application form to demonstrate his/her family's financial position to pursue academic study.
Along with the above documents, the applicant must submit their official transcripts and ACT/SAT scorecards to demonstrate their excellence in academics.
A recipient must also provide recommendation letters from his/her faculty members.
Award Amount and Deadline
The award amount varies based on the applicant's financial need and it is renewable throughout his/her U.G study.
All applicants are required to apply for this scholarship with all the necessary documents on or before the deadline date that will be announced in the official website. Any application sent post the mentioned deadline will be rejected and won't be considered for the valuation.
A student must be a resident of New Mexico as this award is purely for those who reside in the United States.
An applicant must have graduated from a New Mexico high school in the top 5% of class or obtain a score of 25 on the ACT or 1140 on the SAT.
A candidate must attend an eligible public or private not for profit post-secondary institution and be enrolled in a UG full-time program.
The applicant's combined family income may not exceed $60,000 per year.
