About the Scholarship

The North Carolina Sheriffs' Association Undergraduate Criminal Justice Scholarship is established by the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA). The award is based on financial assistance. The organization has set different priorities to child or step-child of a North Carolina Sheriff or Deputy Sheriff to receive this grant. An applicant must undergo a full-time U.G study in North Carolina and must major in criminal justice.


How to Apply for Scholarship?

  • Applicants of the scholarship are selected by the Financial Aid Office and sent to the NCSEAA.

  • The scholarship is awarded based on financial need. Hence an applicant needs to fill and submit the FAFSA application form to demonstrate the financial assistance.

  • The student must submit official proof from the Sheriff of the company where he/she lives.

  • Scholarship applications are available in their school’s financial aid office, a student must fill and submit the application before the deadline.


Award Amount and Deadline:

The organization awards $2000 annually to 12 applicants, and awards are non-renewable.

The scholarship deadline is 15th March 2020. The applicants must submit all their required documents for this award before the fixed deadline.

 


Eligibility Criteria

  • A student should be a North Carolina resident.

  • Students should be undergraduate majoring in criminal justice, one for each UNC constituent institution that has a criminal justice program.

  • The student must obtain a letter of recommendation from the Sheriff of the county in North Carolina where he or she resides.
