About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction, an organization that is in charge of a number of public schools. The organization is committed to providing advice and financial assistance to various states of the United States.

The financial aid division constantly strives to provide necessary financial assistance to a student who demonstrates the need in the form of grants and scholarships. This scholarship they offer was created during the 2009 legislative session and is aimed at retaining students in North Dakota.


How to apply for this scholarship?

  • Firstly, the student has to fill and submit a FAFSA form before the deadline to identify the financial position of the family.

  • The applicant also has to submit all their transcripts and official ACT and SAT scorecard.

  • The student must make an account and fill out the application on the NDDPI website. This is a general application that needs to be filled for the scholarship.


How much the scholarship award amounts to?

  • The award amount will be $750 for each semester, hence it’ll be $1,500 per year.

  • If the student is enrolled full-time then the scholarships are automatically renewed

  • The number of awards granted by the organization varies every year.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The student should be enrolled full time at an accredited institution of higher education in North Dakota

  • The student should maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.75, and maintains progress toward degree completion.

  • The state board shall monitor each scholarship recipient to ensure that the student meets the academic requirements.
