About the Scholarship
Northcountry Federal Credit Union encourages northern Vermont students to pursue higher education and overcome significant challenges and hardships.
The scholarship is awarded by the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) to students who are committed towards learning and to giving back to the community, thus reflecting the credit union philosophy of people helping people.
Approximately 280 northern Vermont students apply for the NorthCountry Federal Credit Union scholarship awards year. It is mandatory that the applicants are pursuing higher education from an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding.
Northcountry Federal Credit Union Scholarship Amount
The scholarship amount is up to $2,000 annually and is non-renewable.
The Vermont Student Assistance Corporation anticipates offering up to 15 awards year. The awardees are selected on the basis of the application documents and academic achievements.
Northcountry Federal Credit Union Scholarship Application
The Northcountry Federal Credit Union Scholarship application is available on the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) website.

The applications may be submitted online or in paper form starting from November 1.

The student needs to submit one application and a single copy of the required documents, if any, for all scholarships for which he or she wishes to apply.

The student must complete the required fields and submit the VSAC Unified Scholarship Application.

Additional mandatory documents that are required to be submitted along with the application include an essay, official transcripts, and a letter of recommendation.

Refer the VSAC Scholarship Booklet for detailed instructions regarding additional materials and assemble the same.

Make sure that you submit the electronic applications and any digital versions of additional materials by midnight on the deadline date.

Postmark any paper applications or materials by the deadline date.
Northcountry Federal Credit Union Scholarship Deadline
The deadline for submitting the scholarship application and other supplemental documents for the present academic year was till Friday, February 15, 2019. You can apply for the scholarship awards for the next academic year once the portal begins to accept the applications.
Eligibility Criteria

The student should have attended a school that is approved for Federal Title IV funding.

The applicant should be enrolled for a specific major in engineering, technology or social work.

The student should belong to a certain town or county of residence.

The applicant should display financial need.
- The applicant should have a minimum GPA of 3.25.
