About the Scholarship
NY Part-time TAP Program is sponsored by New York State Higher Education Services Corporation. The Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) is New York's largest grant program. New enactment instituted in 2006 made a part-time TAP program, The program helps recognized residents of New York with financial assistance which help cover the tuition cost at approved schools in New York
What are the basic requirements needed for this scholarship?
The student must complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be able to apply or receive these financial aids.
The students along with FAFSA application, TAP application must also be submitted at the time of admission.
Must demonstrate financial need and meet income eligibility limitations,m as determined by the New York Higher Education Commission.
NY Part-time TAP Program amounts to
The scholarship provides $4735 annually based on the student's credit hours enrolled.
The scholarship Varies, based on the number of qualified applicants and the amount of funds available
The students must submit their applications by the end of June 30, 2020.
The applications are available from the New York State Higher Education Service Corporation (HESC) website.
Be a United States citizen or eligible noncitizen
Must be a resident of New York state
TAP eligibility (a maximum of 48 points for four years of full-time eight years of part-time undergraduate study or 60 points for students enrolled in approved five-year programs)
Be matriculated and enrolled in an approved undergraduate program at SUNY, CUNY, or an independent (not-for-profit) NYS institution
Have earned 12 credits in each of two consecutive prior semesters (credits from New York State not-for-profit institutions only)
Maintain a C average and meet good academic standing requirements
