About the Scholarship
The PRSA Diversity Multicultural Society was started in the year 1989 by PRSA’s Multicultural Affairs Committee. The scholarship is awarded by the PRSA Foundation, which annually assists and demonstrates student's excellent academic performance as well as a commitment to public relations in the community. The scholarship awards the fund to the student who actually demonstrates good results in academics. A student who is a member of PRSSA is given a priority.
How to Apply for Scholarship?
To apply for this scholarship award, an applicant must fill one Universal Application.
In addition to the universal application, an applicant needs to submit official transcripts of college or university in which the students are studying.
An applicant also needs to submit a letter of recommendation from a PRSA member or member associated with the public relations profession or higher education.
In addition to all documents, an applicant must write one essay among three topics as specified by the financial aid of PRSA.
What is the Total Amount Awarded?
The scholarship awards $1500 to two students annually, who show outstanding academic records. The amount is non-renewable.
All the documents needed for the scholarship are submitted before May 31st.
A student must be registered as a full-time undergraduate student in a four-year accredited and recognized college or university.
An applicant with a major or minor in public relations is preferred.
A recipient enrolled in a program must be in a communications degree and programs like journalism or mass communications.
The recipient should be of African-American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native American, Alaskan Native or Pacific Islander ancestry.
The recipient must have attained, at least junior status by 2019 and have at most one full term remaining.
A student must have a minimum 3.0-grade point average on a 4.0 point scale in all courses.
