About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the American Art Therapy Association, a non-profit, professional, an educational organization dedicated to the growth and development of the art therapy profession. They advocate for the furtherance of the profession and connect members to the important work of art therapists around the world. The organization's generous donors provide a number of scholarships yearly, which are presented at the Annual Conference, which interested applicants are encouraged to attend. The purpose of this award is to fund an art therapy research study in its proposal stage.
How to apply for the scholarship?
The applicants should complete the application which can be found on the American Art Therapy Association site.
Along with the application, the applicant should also submit two letters of recommendation, official academic transcripts, a personal essay, and documentation confirming acceptance in an AATA-accredited art therapy program.
How much the scholarship award amounts to?
The award amounts to $900 annually per year and is non-renewable.
One award is offered per year.
The deadline date is set for May 1
An applicant must be an active student member of AATA and must be enrolled in any AATA-approved programs.
An applicant has to submit transcripts, letters of recommendation, essay, and financial information.
The selection of applications is based on academic ability and financial need.
A student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 out of 4 to be eligible for the scholarship.
