About the Scholarship

Rockefeller State Wildlife Scholarship is funded by the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOFSA) to encourage and support the students of Louisiana who are pursuing higher education.

The scholarship is available to the students who are enrolled for undergraduate or graduate study program with majors in forestry, wildlife or marine science.


Rockefeller State Wildlife Scholarship Awards

LOFSA provides scholarships worth $2000 to $3000 to undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing courses of study in the field of Forestry, Wildlife or Marine Science.

  • The undergraduate students who are enrolled for 60 credit hours receive an amount of $2000.

  • The graduate students pursuing higher studies in the eligible fields of study receive an amount of $3000.

Recipients are expected to attain a degree by the end of the period of scholarship or the award amount has to be refunded.


Rockefeller State Wildlife Scholarship Application Requirements

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of the state of Louisiana.

  • The student must be enrolled for undergraduate or graduate program majoring in the eligible fields.

  • The undergraduate student must have a GPA of 2.5 or more on a scale of 4.

  • The graduate student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

  • The application form is available on the official website of LOFSA.

  • The applicant must have completed the FAFSA process before applying for the scholarship.

  • The applicant must submit all the required documents related to academic and other achievements along with the application.


Rockefeller State Wildlife Scholarship Application Deadline

The application and other documents must be submitted before 1st July 2019 without fail. Any application received past the deadline is considered disqualified.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national or eligible non-citizen and be registered with Selective Service if required and must be a Louisiana resident for at least one year prior to July 1st of the scholarship award year.

  • Applicant must complete and submit such documentary evidence as required by LASFAC.

  • Minimum 2.5 GPA.

  • Applicant must not be attending high school currently.

  • Restricted to students studying Biology, Marine Biology, Marine/Ocean Engineering, Natural Resources, Oceanography.
