About the Scholarship
The South Carolina Legislative Incentive for Future Excellence (LIFE) Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship program administered by the financial aid office of all public and independent colleges and universities in South Carolina which offer a two-year degree course.
The mission of this program is to improve the employability rates of South Carolina students by providing them access to higher education. The Scholarship program encourages students to go for higher education and provides incentives so that they can be better prepared for college.
The scholarship is funded by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education.
SC Life Scholarship amount
Award Amount - The award is to avail the expenses up to the cost of tuition at eligible two-year colleges and a book allowance of $300. The scholarship award amount is renewable until degree completion.
Recipients - Depending on the number of qualified applicants, the number of awards varies annually.
Basic Requirements for SC Life Scholarship
The applicant must enroll in a full-time undergraduate degree at an institution in South Carolina and maintain a GPA of 3.0 and above.
One important thing to note is that an eligible student cannot be an SC HOPE Scholarship, Palmetto Fellows Scholarship or Lottery Tuition Assistance, recipient.
SC Life Scholarship application
There is no official application or deadline as such for the Life Scholarship. The only requirement is that the applicant must be a high school senior at the time of application.
The eligibility requirements for the Life scholarship are determined by the college or the university.
The student's eligibility is based on his or her official high school transcripts. The college or university notifies its students directly if they are eligible for the Life Scholarship.

The student should be a high school graduate or should have completed a homeschool program.
The applicant should have attended an eligible South Carolina public or private institution.
The applicant should be a green card holder and a legal resident of South Carolina.
The applicant must enroll as a full-time degree-seeking undergraduate.
Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
