About the Scholarship
This award is available to South Dakota students who are enrolled at or planning to attend a South Dakota State supported college or university. The student must be under the age of 25 and be the child of a deceased parent, mother or father, who was killed in action or died of other causes while on active duty in the armed forces. Eligibility Criteria
Must be currently pursuing an undergraduate level of study and be under the age of 25. Must be a resident of South Dakota. Must be a child of a deceased parent, mother or father, who was a veteran for at least six months immediately prior to entry into active service a bona fide resident South Dakota, and who suffered death from any cause while in the service of the armed forces of the United States. Must be enrolled at one of the following state supported institutions: Black Hills State University; Dakota State University; Northern State University; South Dakota School of Mines and Technology; South Dakota State University; The University of South Dakota.
