About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the South Carolina Higher Education Tuition Grants Commission. The main aim of the SC Higher Education Tuition Grant is to monitor need-based tuition grants to assists students to pay for their education without any financial burden.
This scholarship program's purpose is to provide need-based assistance to South Carolina undergraduate students attending eligible independent non-profit in-state colleges. The factors considered while selecting a candidate include family income, family assets, number of family members in the household.
How to apply for the scholarship?
Interested applicants should apply for the grant by completing and submitting a FAFSA application form that is used to determine the financial position of a student and his/her family.
All the necessary documents must be submitted to the institution before the deadline.
Scholarship Amount and Deadline
The award amount actually isn't constant and depends on a number of factors including, family resources, cost of college, amount of funding available, and the total number of applications received. The average award, based on the last few years, is approximately $2,600 per year and is renewable for up to three years.
The application form and FAFSA must be submitted to the institution no later than June 30 to be considered for the scholarship.
The applicant must be an undergraduate student.
Applicant must attend a university, a four-year college or two-year college.
The applicant must be a US citizen studying for full-time in any recognized institution.
