The burden of college expenses is heavier than the desire of education for students. For reducing this weight, there are several financial aids available from the state as well as private organizations along with the federal benefits. Among these financial aids, scholarships are the most student-friendly source of money as the money received as scholarships need not be paid except if it’s mentioned in the criteria. But the majority of the scholarships need not be paid back. Whereas, loans and certain grants are required to be paid back by the recipients. These scholarships are awarded to students on the basis of the merit of the student in the previous institution, achievements in co-curricular activities, and financial need. Different scholarships require different eligibility. The basic criteria remain the same.

The students are given various scholarships in order to pursue basic and higher education by funding almost every educational expenses.

Education is considered a major investment in the state of Colorado. Students who are long-time residents of the state of Colorado are awarded Colorado scholarships. The students who are enrolled in the different universities, colleges, and other institutions such as the University of Denver, the Air Force Academy and the University of Colorado at Boulder, who are non-residents of the state are given a lot of scholarships as well. Some of the scholarships are enlisted below:

  • MetLife Foundation Scholarship: The MetLife Foundation offers students pursuing an education in eligible fields such as education, journalism, economics, agriculture, communications, plant pathology engineering, marketing and so on.

  • Coloradans for Nebraska Scholarship: To high school graduate students who are enrolled or planning to enroll in the University of Nebraska at Kearney, the University of Nebraska at Omaha or the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, the Coloradans for Nebraska Scholarship is awarded by the Coloradans for Nebraska organization.
