The Minnesota Office of Higher Education, Minnesota businesses, philanthropic organizations and the universities and colleges of Minnesota offer a huge number of scholarships to students who are in financial need to pursue their education. The students can receive various scholarships by just being a resident or a student enrolled in an accredited university or college. As the students do not have to pay back the money received as scholarships, these are the most convenient financial aids available to students. The scholarships are awarded based on the student’s merit, financial need, and other factors. Scholarships are offered by both private and state organizations as an investment to the state’s future.

Even if you are not a resident of the state of Minnesota, the students who have enrolled in accredited universities like Minnesota State University, the University of Minnesota (U of M) or the Carleton College are eligible for a huge number of scholarships offered by the different organizations. As a part of the development of the state, the students are given all possible financial aids to educate the new generations. The aids received by the students cover not only the tuition and fees but every college costs. Certain scholarships offered to the residents and eligible non-residents are enlisted below:

  • Minnesota Association of Townships (MAT) Scholarship: Students who are attending a public, private, or parochial high school or a home study program in Minnesota are awarded the Minnesota Association of Townships (MAT) Scholarship to pursue higher education in an accredited college, university or vocational school. The scholarship is offered by the Minnesota Association of Townships (MAT).

  • Minnesota Indian Scholarship: The Minnesota Indian Scholarship is awarded to students who are of one-fourth or more Indian ancestry and demonstrate financial need. The students have to be eligible for Indian undergraduate and graduate students to receive this scholarship.
