About the Scholarship
The Take Stock in Children Scholarship Program is established by the organization Take Stock in Children - Duval County.
The organization guides and provides economic assistance to Florida students who graduate from high school with the required skills to complete their postsecondary education and to enter the working environment at ease.
The organization strived to provide economic assistance to financially backward students of the US for their college/institution's tuition fees.
The scholarship provides an incentive to students who invest their "sweat equity" in improving grades and investing the time needed to be fully prepared for college. It also ensures their students complete college with minimum debt loads.
How to apply for the scholarship?
In order to apply for this scholarship, applicants must fill the online application form that is available on their Take Stock in Children - Duval County official website. Any information relating to the scholarship can be found on the same page.
The candidate must have to submit his/her FAFSA certificate to demonstrate their financial need and determine what scholarship they are eligible for.
In addition to that, a recipient must have to submit his/her ACT/SAT scorecard to portray their academic excellence.
The candidates must sign a contract accepting to stay drug and crime-free and maintain decent academic grades.
Also, he/she must submit two recommendation letters from their faculty members.
The applicant is required to submit an essay explaining his/her career plan and future academic goals.
The scholarship award amounts to $5,000 available to 100 students per academic year. The award and applicants again depends on the total funds available and applications received.
What is the deadline for the scholarship

Any delay in the submission of necessary documents will lead to rejection.
An applicant must reside in Florida until he/she completes his/her graduation.
To be eligible for the scholarship, a candidate must be in sixth through ninth grade to enroll in the Take Stock in Children program.
The applicant's family income should be below the federal poverty level.
The applicant must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher out of 4 to enjoy the scholarship benefits.
