About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the South Asia Institute, SAI coordinates activities at Columbia University that relate to the study of the countries of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. SAI partners with departments, centers, and institutes at Columbia, and works with South Asiagroups on campus, in order to reach new audience and facilities an exchange of knowledge. How to apply for the scholarship?
The applicant must complete the application which can be found on the South Asia Institute site.
Along with the application, the applicant should submit an essay of 500 words or less on academic plans, academic transcripts, three sealed recommendation letters, passport photocopy, and FAFSA.
How much the scholarship award amounts to?
The award amounts to approximately $3,000 - $7,000 per year and is non-renewable.
One award is offered per year.
An applicant must be an Indian passport holder.
A student applying for the award must have completed at least a year of graduate study in the United States.
This award is also for international students attending Columbia University.
