About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by The Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation, whose founder and director is none other than Floyd Mayweather Jr., considered to be the best and most talented fighter of his generation. This non-profit organization is devoted to social improvement, community wellness, economic development, and education. This scholarship was proposed for eligible women who wish to pursue further education and benefit the profession as a whole. 



How to apply for the scholarship?

  • The applicant must fill up the application on The Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation website.

  • Along with the application, the applicant should also submit three recommendation letters, personal statements describing her community service and her career and life goals, and FAFSA.

How much the scholarship award amounts to?

  • The award amounts to $1,000 per year and is non-renewable.
  •  Four awards are offered per year. 

Deadline Information 

The deadline date for the Fall 2019 semester: June 14, 2019

The deadline date for the Spring 2020 semester: November 17, 2019

Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must be a United States citizen or a recognized legal permanent resident of the USA.

  • A Student should have full-time enrollment at any four-year accredited university.

  • An individual must be specialized in PR, Communications, Media, Marketing or Journalism major with the desire to work in the entertainment industry.

  • An applicant must have an average GPA of 2.75 out of 4 in order to be eligible.
