About the Scholarship

Wisconsin Minority Undergraduate Retention Grant is accredited by the State of Wisconsin Higher Educational Aids Board. The institution was started to provide financial assistance for Wisconsin residents attending institutions of higher education. This scholarship mainly focuses on the Wisconsin resident minority undergraduates, minority refers to those students who are either African American, Anglo Indian, Hispanic or from the Southeast Asian who are admitted to the U.S after December 31, 1975. 


 

How to apply for the Wisconsin Minority Undergraduate Retention Grant program?

  • The first step before applying for any scholarship is to complete the FAFSA application by the candidates and must be nominated by the Financial Aid Office.

  • Students must demonstrate financial need, Financial need is generally defined as the difference between the cost of attendance and the student’s expected family contribution (EFC). 

  • The awards are mainly for the freshers.

 

Wisconsin Minority Undergraduate Retention Grant amounts to

  • This scholarship program provides around $250 to 42500 annually based on the student's requirements and meeting thir eligibility.

  • The awards are renewable for up to 3 additional years and the total number of awards offered by this scholarship are approximately 800 annually

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must attend a university, a four-year college, two-year college or a vocational-tech school.

  • Applications are restricted by race for Black, Hispanic, Asian/Pacific Islander or American Indian/Alaska Native students.

  • The applicant must not be attending high school currently.

  • Applicants of both full-time and part-time students are eligible.
