The University of Nebraska at Omaha was founded in 1908. It was established as a coeducational college that is private in nature by the Presbyterian Theological Seminary of Omaha. The early founders of the university desired to provide a learning environment for the students who are free from ministerial control. Apart from building an Institution that provided a sound learning environment with practical education, the founder’s aim was to make this education facility within the reach of everyone who desired for higher education. ‘Accessible education’ remained an important part of the mission and vision of the university in the future.
