What is the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM)?

Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is perceived by U.S Department of Education and is a national level association which offers accreditations to colleges and universities. It is licensed to Masters-level degrees in needle therapy and oriental medication.

ACAOM has more than sixty-five schools and universities with nomination status with the commission.


 What are the programs you can apply for?

 ACAOM currently offers three types of program

  • Diploma Programs – It is a 4-year of the degree or certificate course, which will help you learn about all the ancient methods and the new traditional Chinese medicine techniques.

  • Master’s Degree Program – This is the most broadly perceived course for needle therapy. This program will help in building up your skills for finding acupoints and using Oriental medicine.

  • Doctoral Degree Programs – Here you will learn how to provide TCM preventative care to your patients through the prescribed three phases: exercise, supplements, and acupuncture.
