Georgetown Pre-College Program

Two-week residential summer program on the Georgetown campus in Washington D.C. Rising high school seniors preferred but rising juniors accepted. Choose from courses in government, foreign policy, business, history, and writing. Taught by Georgetown faculty. Small seminars (15–20 students).

Cost: $3,500 including tuition, housing, meals, and campus facilities.

Location: Historic Georgetown campus in Washington D.C. Walking distance to Kennedy Center, Supreme Court, Library of Congress.

Highlights: Guest speakers from State Department, World Bank, Congress. Field trips to monuments and policy institutions. Evening social events with other pre-college students.

Global Summer

Three-week residential program in international locations (London, Madrid, Beijing, Tokyo vary by year). Focuses on global affairs, international relations, language. Taught partially by Georgetown faculty, partly by host country faculty.

Cost: $4,500–$5,500 including flights, tuition, accommodations, meals.

Selectivity: Moderate. Essay and transcript review. Language prerequisite for non-English programs (2 years of study minimum).

Summer Law Program (High School)

Two weeks, law and government focus. Mock trials, constitutional law seminars, Supreme Court visits. $3,000 cost.

Summer Business Institute

Two weeks. Finance, entrepreneurship, and business strategy taught by Georgetown McDonough faculty. Stock market simulation, case study competitions, pitch your startup project.

Cost: $3,500.

Campus Experience

Georgetown’s campus is one of America’s most beautiful. Hilltop location overlooks Washington D.C., allowing easy access to museums, government buildings, and cultural events. Dorm living immerses you in college life. Many pre-college students tour undergrad dorms and attend events, building familiarity with Georgetown’s admission process.

Application & Admissions Value

Completing a Georgetown summer program does not guarantee or significantly boost Georgetown college admissions (Georgetown is very selective). However, if you attend and love the program, citing it in your college essay shows genuine interest.
