The Texas Woman’s University runs an admission process varies on the basis of three distinct University programs:

The First-Year Admission Program

  • This program is mainly for freshmen. Around 49% of the state's student body applies for the first generation undergraduate program. 

  • The program has similar requirements like other admission programs. An SAT test score of 970-1140 along with an ACT score of 17-23 and an estimated GPA of 3.25. 

  • Apart from this, the candidate must have some experience in prep-college courses.

The Post Graduate Admission Program

  • The admission requirements are more or less the same as that of the first generation one

  • Along with all the satisfying credentials, the candidate must have a good educational record in the under-graduation courses

  • The application holds a strong impact if a recommendation is available.

The International Admission Program

  • For international students apart from academic test scores, English fluency test scores such as IELTS, TOEFL is mandatory. 

  • For IELTS, at least an overall 6.5 overall band is acceptable. If the candidate is appearing for TOEFL, a score of 70 or higher is acceptable. 

  • Along with these, the candidate must hold a visa with foreign nationality and should have a U.S. pending resident status.

The American Testing (ACT) scorecard is one of the mandates when applying for TWU. Although the cutoff is pretty average, only 47% of the high school students apply via ACT. If we breakdown subject wise desirable score distribution, it would look like the following:

  • ACT 25th & 75th  reading score should be around 16 and 23 or higher respectively.

  • ACT 25th & 75th mathematics score should be 17 and 23 or higher respectively.

  • ACT composite score should be above 25 in both the categories.

  • The average score should be around 20, ranging between 17-23 scores.

The admission process and the acceptance criteria vary depending upon which University Major and which admission program are you opting for. However, the basic guidelines are similar for all:

  • Apply on the online portal for admission: This is the official website for the admission process. Within the website only, catalogs of both undergraduate and postgraduate will be provided.

  • Paying off the Net Application fees: Each application form costs $60. Payment can be completed by any means. If one is opting for credit cards, and online payment option is present on the official website only. For certified checks, one has to pay the amount to the bank account of TWU and then email the details to the same. For cash payment, one has to submit the money to the Bursar’s Office and then physically submit the receipt to the admission block on the campus.

  • Submission of Documents for VerificationIn this step, one is expected to provide proofs of their SAT/ACT test scores, GPA score, and High School transcript. In the case of international students, additional test scores such as TOEFL/ IELTS along with a copy of their valid visa details is required.

  • Apply for your Program: As mentioned earlier, the TWU hosts a wide range of subjects rendering both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, so it leaves one with a number of options to choose from and apply.
