When is the FAFSA due date?

Keeping up the deadlines is one major challenge when it comes to financial aids. Depending on whether the aid is federal or state, the deadlines vary. Though there can be a state-wise variation on the financial aid deadline, the federal aid application deadline is the same for everyone that is June 30, 2019. Any corrections or updates in the applications can be made before September 14, 2019.

FAFSA has an 18-month application cycle and becomes available on October 1. Financial and tax information from the previous years are asked in order to determine aid eligibility. The FAFSA deadline is available till the midnight of June 30, 2019.

In order to apply to federal aid on time, students should make use of state financial aid deadlines as well. Though the application cycle for FAFSA  is 18 months, the state deadlines occur sooner than the state deadlines. To be eligible for state aid, the FAFSA application is submitted beforehand.

The following criteria are applied in a few of the following states.

  • Some states ask for an additional application form. The financial aid administrator or state agency can be contacted to know about the additional information.

  • A proof of mailing is encouraged from the applicant’s side.

  • Submit the application for priority consideration, within the date specified.

  • Deadline is by midnight both by Central Standard time and Central Daylight time
