About the Scholarship
1,000 Dreams scholarship is sponsored by Greater Kansas City Community Foundation to provide educational assistance for high school or college-aged women throughout the united states who are actively involved in extracurricular activities that may incur costs beyond tuition. This scholarship is not to fund tuition. The intention is to provide access to educational opportunities beyond tuition. Since its founding in 1978, the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation is to improve the quality of life in Greater Kansas City by increasing charitable giving, educating and connecting donors to community needs they care about and leading on critical community issues.
Applicant must submit an online application including two recommendation letters and an essay explaining how the grat should be used. All applications and supporting materials must be received online before the deadline date.
Eligible Applicants will receive $1000 that may be spent on extra-curricular or academic pursuits and its a renewable scholarship.
The annual application opens December 1, 2019, and ends on April 1, 2020.
Must be women attending high school or a two-year or four-year college/university
Must be U.S Citizen
demonstrate financial need
include two letters of recommendation
include an essay explaining how the grant would be used
funds must be used the semester after they are awarded and cannot be deferred.
Previous recipients may not reapply for this scholarship.
