About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the American Library Association, which is the oldest and largest library association in the world. It works to expand library services in America and to promote the profession of librarianship. The Bound to Stay Bound Books Scholarship provides financial help for individuals who wish to pursue an MLS or a more advanced degree. There are 4 BTSB scholarships available yearly. The major factors that are considered during selection are academic performance, leadership skills and a desire to work with children in any type of library.
How to apply for the scholarship?
The applicant should fill up the application which can be found on the American Library Association site.
Along with the application, the applicant must also submit three references, official academic transcripts, and FAFSA.
How much the scholarship award amounts to?
- The award amounts to $7,500 per year and is non-renewable.
- Four awards are offered per year.
The applicant must be a U.S. citizen or a Canadian citizen.
Must plan to work in a library in an area of service to children.
Must be pursuing a master's degree in library and information studies.
